A new study reveals what dog lovers have always known—it's actually grosser to French kiss a human than it is to kiss your dog (although nobody should probably be French-kissing dogs).

According to the study by dog fence company, Havahart Wireless, human mouths have 1.4 times more bacteria than dogs' mouths do. That means your boyfriend's mouth has about 2,000,000 more germs than your dog's does. Your dog most likely hates being hugged, but he probably won't mind being smooched.

Okay, that's the good news. The bad news is that, according to the same study, a dog's food bowl has about 2.1 times more bacteria than a fork, and a dog toy typically has 2.2 times more bacteria than a cell phone. So no eating out of the dog's dish, and if you have to chew something, make it your cell phone and not the dog's bone.
