A member of the Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers 24/7, which is a very real and very Australian organization, caught Rocky-esque footage of two goannas trying to tear each other apart limb-from-limb near a campsite in Queensland. This mini-Godzilla tussle is around 90% holding and swaying like two grandparents dancing at a wedding and 10% ferocious, savage snapping and clawing, like two in-laws clashing at a wedding.

BIG BOYS BATTLE IT OUT!This was awesome. I got front row seats to these big boys battling it out for the right to scavenge at our campsite over on Bribie Island around a month back. I've spent my whole life observing reptiles in the wild and this was the first time and probably the only time I'll ever get to see this epic behavior. All up there was about 6 Lace Monitors cruising around us while this was going on. My brother Steve took this iPhone video and I'm so stoked he did. After the fight, they scuttled back into the Australian wilderness, presumably to settle their differences like civilized goannas. This left the Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers to find more nightmare reptiles like this behemoth Keelback snake:
