A dad filmed his daughter every week from birth until age 14 and made this 4-minute time-lapse film.
There were shockingly few band-aids and poison ivy rashes in this video.
Meet Lotte. Lotte is a 14-year-old girl from the Netherlands who was filmed by her father, Frans Hofmeester, every week from birth until age 14, and then edited tiny snippets of those moments into this time-lapse film with music from film composer Mateo Messina. I don't know if age 14 was always the end point in his mind or whether she had just reached the age where she was all like "Dad, I don't want to be part of a moving art project anymore. I'm a teenager and I'm too cool now."
In any case, it's an impressive achievement of patience and fatherly love, not to mention a reminder of how crazy nature is and the fact that kids' FACE BONES ARE CHANGING SHAPE ALL THE TIME. Weird. Just weird.
Strangely enough, this is the second story today about a 14-year-old Dutch girl. Lotte, however, is a lotte more likeable than the 14-year-old Dutch girl who tweeted out a terrorist threat against American Airlines before having a highly-entertaining meltdown on Twitter.
