Celebrities are paying a lot of money to have a woman bite them, yes, with her teeth. And it's not even a sex thing, but a (apparently) legit form of intense body massage delivered by masseuse Dorothy Stein, who goes by "Dr. Dot." She says she learned the unusual massage practice from her mother, who would instruct her to bite her back when she was a kid as a form of massage.
Then, in the early '80s, Stein began putting the skill to practice by massaging—and biting—the backs of famous musicians. One of her earliest clients was Phil Collen, of the band Def Leppard. "I went to every Def Leppard show and massaged them," says Stein. "I built a network with those people and eventually started massaging bands to get into shows."
Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen loves my bite method massage. He was in fact my first ever Rock Star client and still uses my massage team to this day.
