If last week's Game of Thrones wasn't scary enough, here's The Mountain deadlifting 994 pounds in real life.
You can't really call what his character did "pure fantasy," because he could totally do it.
By all accounts, 25-year-old Hafthor Julius Bjornsson, who plays The Mountain on Game of Thrones, is as much of a big softie as his face implies, but after the dramatic climax of last week's episode (read our Facebook recap here), I'm gonna have a lot of trouble believing that again.
This is not helped by the fact that he dropped by a strength competition last month to quickly lift a thousand (well, 994) pounds in the air - a feat that seemed much easier for him in this video from Integrated Fitness than for the metal bar holding those weights. Yikes. Well, at least it's not like he's bending cast iron around his neck while painted as The Hulk, or something terrifying like that.
Dammit. Back to therapy.
