Although it has come to an end, Parks and Recreation will be remembered not just as a show with an amazing cast and hilarious writing, but for being something almost no scripted series is these days: optimistic about American politics. As the very web-famous Hank Green argues in his even-more-famous brother John Green in their long-running Vlogbrothers series, Parks and Rec's real message is one America badly needs to hear in 2016: that people with opposing viewpoints, like Leslie Knope and Ron Swanson can recognize each other's goodness and work together, even when they totally disagree.
