Farting in an elevator is still not recommended.

A new report has been released by scientists, who are undoubtedly giggling in a laboratory somewhere, saying you shouldn't try to hold in a fart on an airplane. Apparently, the excess gas can cause bloating, heartburn, and indigestion, none of which are going to kill you, unlike the passengers stuck breathing in a cloud of your stale emissions for the entirety of the flight. The scientists did, however, recommend that pilots refrain from farting. The smell might distract their co-pilots and put the entire flight at risk, resulting in a fart that is, quite literally, deadly.
