5. Will Smith. It must sting to know that more people wanted to see the sixth movie in the Fast & Furious franchise than this summer's Will Smith blockbuster. Smith's After Earth opened this weekend and was widely panned by the critics, in addition to only grossing $27 million at the box office (which is like nothing in movie amounts). In other words, a sci-fi movie directed by a man (M. Night Shyamalan) so reviled that his name wasn't even included in the trailer wasn't a huge hit. Lesson learned.
4. An NBA player fined $75K for saying "no homo." Indiana Pacers center Roy Hibbert was fined $75,000 by the NBA after using the term "no homo" during a postgame press conference Saturday. (Oh yeah, and he called the media "mother****ers" for good measure.) Here's what Hibbert said: "I really felt that I let [teammate Paul George] down in terms of having his back when LeBron was scoring in the post or getting to the paint, because they stretched me out so much. No homo." Hear that, everyone? Hibbert is not the sort of homo who openly shows concern for a teammate. Actually, contrary to widely accepted stereotypes that big strong athletes are gay, playing on a professional sports team together is a totally hetero thing. Now you know.
