Really, really undercover traffic cop?
This is the stuff nightmares are made of. YouTube user Ivan Tukhtin was driving on I-78 W in New Jersey, when he was suddenly stopped by someone who had pulled over to the side of the road, turned off their lights, and set up two orange traffic cones in the highway.
The dash cam on Ivan's sports car recorded the interaction as he asked the man what he was doing. Before the stranger could get any closer, Ivan maneuvered around the cones and took off.
The Internet immediately became obsessed with this mystery man and what might have happened if Ivan hadn't kept driving. There are already over 1.2 million views on the YouTube video. Was he a carjacker? A serial killer? A guy who was having a hard time making friends the old-fashioned way?
And then there are the conspiracy theorists, who can't help but think this is all just a viral marketing campaign for something. (Is this guy the real Alex from Target the #AlexFromTarget meme was based on? Think about it.) If it is, I would totally watch that television program/wear that brand of jeans/drink that beer. Nice work, marketing folks!
My guess? If Ivan had stopped his car, the man would have sauntered over, peered in the driver's side window and asked, "Excuse me, sir. Do you have a minute to fight global warming?"
No way out. Gives me chills.
