A fan reached out to the "Harry Potter" author on Twitter, not expecting to hear back. But he did!
DON'T. (via Twitter)
Thank you, J. K. Rowling, for not only giving me hours of entertainment with your books, but also for talking openly about your own struggle with depression. There is such a stigma around mental health issues, and being depressed is a deeply isolating feeling. It's great that Twitter user Brocaesar reached out to someone like Rowling when he was feeling lost. On the list of celebrities to look to for a kind word, she's the tops.
Her response is beautiful:
.@BrocaesarTV And I'd say, the world is full of wonderful things you haven't seen yet. Don't ever give up on the chance of seeing them.— J.K. Rowling (@jk_rowling) May 4, 2015
Just a few tweets can really turn things around:
I'm tearing up over here! Humans can truly be amazing to one another. Thank you @jk_rowling and everyone replying.— Brocaesar (@BrocaesarTV) May 4, 2015
Yes! A story where human beings are truly amazing to one another with only the magic of the Internet. Would anyone be interested in developing a 7 book series and a movie franchise on this theme?
