A famous still from "From Grandpa With Love."
I knew conditions in many nursing homes weren't ideal, but I had no idea things were this bad. This collection of photos—posted to reddit with the title "Nursing home dresses senior citizens up in famous classic movie roles for calendar"—suggests our grandparents and other elderly loved ones are facing the greatest indignity of all: being forced to pose for goofy theme calendars.
Of course, it could just be the title that redditor chose makes it seem like these adults are being forced to do something against their will. Maybe they vote every year on what to dress up as for the calendar, and this year Karl and his classic movies idea finally won.
Either way, the set of photos in the album below seems to be from a German or perhaps Austrian nursing home, since many of the models have last names like Liedtke and Trachenberg. It's a relief to know this (probably) isn't happening on our home soil.
Sidenote for my family members: Consider this my official request to pose for calendars in my own home for as long as possible.
