Today's Big Gulp flavor: Sea Salt

Who says moving water can't freeze? (via Jonathan Nimerfroh)

I don't know how cold it is where you are, but on the beaches of Nantucket are freezing over.

Waves of rolling "beach slurpees" became today's viral image after surfer and photographer Jonathan Nimerfroh contributed them to Stay Wild magazine.

As he tells ,

"Just been super cold here. The harbor to the main land is frozen solid. No boats running. But yeah, the day after I took these it actually froze up the shoreline for 200 yards out. Solid ice. I was totally tripping when I pulled up to the beach and saw this."

"Totally tripping," incidentally, is the one of the reasons people go into a 7-11 to begin with.
