1. Hillary Clinton Gets Her First Scandal Of The 2016 Election Cycle
We're not even a quarter way into 2015, and likely presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has already been saddled with the first of many, many "scandals" that will almost certainly plague her campaign. Clinton has recently come under fire for using a personal email account instead of a government-issued account during her time as Secretary of State, in violation of the Federal Records Act. It is currently unknown how she thought she could get away with this egregious violation of transparency. Perhaps from the way in which pretty much the entire Bush administration and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney similarly ignored the same law? It's hard to say. Jeb Bush—who, bless his heart, actually thinks he's gonna win the Republican nomination—has already started using this as a line of attack against her.
Obviously it's low-hanging fruit, but I'm a bit surprised at the lack of "#emailghazi" tweets right now. Was it just too easy?— Ben Kamisar (@bkamisar) March 3, 2015
