If you thought Michael Phelps' infamous stink-eye was creepy and terrifying before, check it out in its new incarnation as some dude's calf tat.
Livia Tsang of the Toronto tattoo parlor Chronic Ink was commissioned to ink the tat on her boss Ricky Fung, who found himself strangely compelled by Phelps' strong game face. At the time Fung decided to get the work done, Phelps hadn't yet beaten the athlete on the receiving end of the glare, Chad le Clos.
“I wasn’t even a big Phelps fan before this, and I’m not really a swim fan,” he told ESPN. “But just seeing him go out and win the way he has has been inspiring to me.”
By the time the three-hour job was finished, Phelps had won the gold while le Clos didn't even place, making the tattoo that much more priceless.
Fung isn't the only one who loves his tattoo. The art has also won the attention of the most winningest man on the planet himself! Phelps declared his love for the tattoo in an hour-long Facebook Live session on Saturday.
So, this happened. Thank you @m_phelps00 for the kind words and the game face that made my art go viral. Trying to be cool. Failing a little bit. (Taken from his Facebook Live video) __________ #michaelphelps #becool #sweetsweetvalidation #olympics #rio2016 #chronicink
