This video of a motel's upsetting key security was uploaded by the husband of redditor rachelface927, who at first thought his wife was overreacting to the video. In it, the man and his friend explain that they were staying at the Choice Hotels franchise when someone barged into their room using a keycard. When they asked the front desk how this could be possible, and they were waved off, saying the other person must've been given a master key by accident. 

But then it occurred to them to wonder: how could you accidentally make a master key? Unless, that is, a master key was the default because some lazy person assumed no one would check if they stopped programming each card...


Upon review of the footage, the internet has decided that rachelface927 was not overreacting: this method of giving keys to guests is really, really unsafe and not OK.
