Firefighters at the Belmont Fire Department in Greenville, South Carolina rescued a stray cat two years ago and the kitty ended up changing their lives for the better.

Now named Flame the Arson Cat, the cat was found outside their station, so they took him in. He quickly became a part of the family...and an Instagram celebrity!

Firefighter Jordan Lide told ABC News that Flame is "always there when you need him to provide that mental break." Lide explained when he found the cat, "he was really skinny and malnourished. I think he was scared and timid but kind of desperate at the same time."

The Fire Chief, Anthony Segars, further explained how the cat is therapeutic for his firehouse, noting, "My guys, they see horrible accidents, horrible things every day. We’re involved in something weekly that stresses to them to some degree and he is a tremendous stress relief to these guys."

Nothing to see here keep it moving fellas. This is totally a normal thing in the cat world I promise. #okimstuck

He added, "He’s just part of the crew."

Lide noted that Flame's temperament helps set their tone each day, explaining: "He just gives you that sense of, 'Take a step back, relax, take it one call at a time.' He’s definitely a part of the guys. He’s a part of our everyday lives."
