New Yorkers love dogs, because contrary to what people think, we have souls. So when the city's widely-hated MTA subway banned dogs (and other pets) "unless they can fit in a bag," NYC rose to the challenge.

"The New York City Subway banned dogs unless they fit in a bag and the people of New York did not disappoint," wrote someone who goes by "C" on Twitter. His tweet quickly blew up, and has been retweeted over 141,000 since yesterday.

Not hard to understand why these went viral:

"Stop calling me a 'good boy' i'm clearly a 'bad boy'"
"Stop calling me a 'good boy' i'm clearly a 'bad boy'"
"B*tch, don't tell me to smile."
"B*tch, don't tell me to smile."
"I was riding in a bag on the subway since before it was cool."
"I was riding in a bag on the subway since before it was cool."

Now everyone is sharing their own dogs-in-bags sightings:

Yes. It. Is.

(Little-known-fact: deep down, all New Yorkers are "embarrassed and confused")

Putting dogs in bags has helped NYC come together.

And for some, it's #goals.

Because if there's one thing New Yorkers love (even more than dogs), it's saying a subtle and adorable "fuck you" to the MTA.
