As you may have heard, NASA is currently looking to hire someone to fill a very special position—that of Planetary Protection Officer. Whoever fills the position must be able to protect Earth from aliens, so the potential hire must have a very specific skill set. On Reddit, user millamber posted a picture of her friend's son's application for the job, in the form of a very earnest letter, and if it were up to us, he'd be hired in a second.

Just in case you can't make it all out (although the youngster has pretty nice handwriting), the kid's letter reads,

Dear NASA,

My name is Jack Davis and I would like to apply for the planetary protection officer job. I may be nine, but I think I would be fit for the job. One of the reasons is my sister says I am an alien also, I have seen almost all the space and alien movies I can see. I have also seen the show Marvel Agents of shield and hope to see the movie Men in Black. I am great at video games. I am young, so I can learn to think like an Alien.

While it's true that the boy currently lacks the "broad engineering experience" the position requires, he's got a lot of the other relevant skills. Has seen a lot of space movies? Check. Great at video games? Check. Plans to one day see Men in Black? Check. Young enough to be able to "learn to think like an Alien"? Also check. The kid sounds pretty qualified. NASA, just think it over.
