A woman took the stage at an Adele concert and made her boyfriend an offer he couldn't refuse—because he wasn't allowed to. According to Irish tradition, a man who is proposed to on Leap Day must accept (the premise of a 2010 romantic comedy starring Amy Adams!)
At Adele's concert in Belfast, Northern Ireland on February 29, a woman took the stage to propose to her boyfriend, with hopes that the added pressure of Adele's personal need to play a sort of coercive Cupid in front of an arena full of people would work in her favor. Things got awkward when it was revealed that the guy, Neil, hadn't given his girlfriend an answer when she proposed earlier that day.
Adele herself got the audience to chant "Come on, Neil!" and added, "You need to say a proper yes, bruv."
Finally, Neil acquiesced.
May they live happily ever after. Or, worst case scenario, the lady will have Adele songs to help her through the breakup.
