Kim Kardashian West suffered a terrifying ordeal in October when she was robbed at gunpoint of millions in cash and jewelry in her hotel room in Paris. No arrests were made at the time, but now E! is reporting that, according to several French outlets, 16 people have been arrested in France in connection with the crime.
West dropped out of the spotlight in the months following the burglary—well, as much as she possibly could, given that in November, her husband Kanye West suffered some sort of breakdown that led to him being hospitalized.
Footage from a security camera near the Paris hotel (which had no functioning surveillance cameras) showed people approaching the hotel, on foot and on bicycle, and then making a hasty getaway some time later. However, the footage was grainy and didn't show much. It's not clear if the footage played any part in the suspects being arrested.
West just returned to social media last week, after three months without posting on Twitter, Instagram, or her private app. A promo for an upcoming episode of her show, Keeping Up With the Kardashians, showed her crying and recalling the incident to her sisters, saying, "They're going to shoot me in the back. There's no way out. It makes me so upset to think about it."
