Ashton Kutcher may be crushing at life these days, but even he has had his lows. In 2011, after his split from ex-wife Demi Moore, the actor lived in Airbnbs for a year, he revealed this weekend. Stars: occasionally living in other people's homes because it's cheaper than a hotel, just like us!

“Right after I got divorced … I didn’t have a house,” the 38-year-old actor said while speaking at the Airbnb Open 2016 in Los Angeles on Saturday, US Weekly reports. “So I just started living in Airbnbs.”

Before you feel too bad for the guy, these were most likely the fancy Airbnb rentals that the rest of us like to look at but can't afford. We're talking over $50 a night and clean bathrooms, probably. Maybe even a mint on the pillow. You know, luxury!

The former That '70s Show star also shared a story about how one Airbnb host helped him through a particularly rough time. “I went to Europe, and I flew in and got in in the middle of the night. I arrived at the Airbnb at 2 a.m," he recalled. "The person had left me dinner and a glass of wine. It was … the magic and the love that I needed in that moment. I was shocked that someone would care that much about a total stranger.” (Not to be cynical, Ashton, but it can't have hurt that you're super-famous.)

Kutcher is living it up these days in the home he shares with wife Mila Kunis and their 2-year-old daughter(and another one on the way!) To think that just five years ago the man was sleeping in a fancy bed that didn't belong to him. What a story of triumph over adversity!
