Over the past week, we've reached a moment of reckoning in this country. Coinciding with country-wide protests against the death of George Floyd at the hands of police, millions of white people are starting to talk honestly about something that black people have had no choice but to talk about for a very long time: systemic racism. This needed to happen, even if it's long overdue.

Two people who are adding their voices to the conversation are Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds. The popular actors took to their enormous social media platforms this week to acknowledge their "complicity" in racism and to to pledge to become "allies."

In a lengthy post shared on both of their Instagram feeds, the couple acknowledged their own "complicity" in racism, and past "bias, blindness" and "mistakes."

They pledged to educate their three kids so that they "never grow up feeding this insane pattern."

They announced that they made a $200,000 donation to racial justice organization, NAACP, and pledged to use their "privilege and platform" to be an "ally."
