Carlos Santana is the latest target of the Beyhive after he went on record to say that Adele won the Grammy for "Album of the Year" because she is a "singer, singer" while Beyoncé is "beautiful to look at," but is more of a model.
"I think that Adele won because she can sing, sing," Santana told AAP. "With all respect to our sister Beyoncé, Beyoncé is very beautiful to look at and it's more like modeling kind of music - music to model a dress - she's not a singer, singer, with all respect to her."
Damn! Sexualizing Beyoncé and putting down her abilities in one sentence? Santana is not mincing words.
He went on to add, "Adele can sing, sing. She doesn't bring all the dancers and props, she can just stand there and she just stood there and sang the song and that's it, and this is why she wins."
Wait, has Carlos Santana ever heard Beyoncé sing? Because regardless of what you think of her performance style or her as an artist, there really is not arguing that she has an incredible set of pipes on her.
Oh wait, he does know how Beyoncé sings because she performed with him at the Super Bowl in 2003. Ouch. Things, amazingly, just managed to get even more awkward.
Honestly, both Adele and Beyonce are incredible vocalists, they just differ greatly when it comes to style and performance. Nevertheless, the comments got Carlos Santana in hot water with the Beyhive, and they were ready to swarm the legendary guitarist the moment he insulted their Queen B.
Grab your bug spray, Santana. You kicked a nest.
