Although the Golden Globes made a more complete In Memoriam slideshow for their website, the ceremony itself paid tribute to just two lost stars: Carrie Fisher and her mother, Debbie Reynolds.

Meryl Streep also honored Fisher in her powerful acceptance speech, saying:

As my, as my friend, the dear departed Princess Leia, said to me once: “Take your broken heart, make it into art.”

Apparently, the Golden Globes don't usually run a "people we lost" segment. But with 2016 seeing the loss of so many, at the very least they had to honor the recent, tragic passing of two late greats, Fisher and Reynolds.
