A surveillance-style video was circulating on Saturday morning in which singer CeeLo Green's cell phone explodes in his hand while he's holding it up to his ear for a call. The explosion knocks him out of his chair and the video cuts out before you can see him get up:

Fans started freaking out and commenting their concerns on the video, which already has more than 1.4 million views. But, fear not, as CeeLo has clarified that it was all staged. Phew!

In a Facebook video posted Saturday night, Green says that he's "alive and well and okay," and expresses that he's upset that anyone was emotionally disturbed by the video they saw. According to Vulture, the video is actually a part of an upcoming music project CeeLo is doing called "Gnarly Davidson."

"It's supposed to set up the new character and identity," he explained to his fans. I wonder how Samsung is going to feel about the new project.

"I want to thank everybody for their love and support and concern," CeeLo closed out his message. Man, you really spooked us with that one, CeeLo! Way to keep us on our toes.
