Remember way back last week, when Kim Kardashian posted her nude selfie, and then some famous people sort of criticized her on Twitter, and then Kim Kardashian fired right back at them? Of course you do. Well, in an interview with Elle on Monday, one of said famous people, actor Chloë Grace Moretz, 19, explained why she tweeted what she did.
First, a quick recap: when Kardashian tweeted her nude selfie on March 7, Moretz replied: "I truly hope you realize how important setting goals are for young women, teaching them we have so much more to offer than just our bodies."
(You'd think she could condense all that into one tweet, but nope, guess not.)
And in response to that, Kardashian called the young actor out in her own tweet:
Ouch. It's unclear if Kardashian is referring to the fact that Moretz is wearing less than a lot of clothing on her recent December 2015/January 2016 Nylon magazine cover.
Either way, some people definitely know who Moretz is, because she's got over 2.2 million followers on Twitter.
After Kardashian's initial tweet to Moretz, a lot of Kardashian's fans piled on her, claiming she was "slut-shaming" Kardashian. Moretz defended herself on Twitter:
Which brings us to the present, when Moretz, a self-proclaimed feminist, told Elle:
All I'll say is that I think a lot of things can be misconstrued in a lot of ways. And I think if people open their minds more, and they try to look deeper into something than just something that is a very big, hot, fiery button to hide behind...I think if people looked into something bigger that I was trying to speak upon, they wouldn't be so easy to fire back silly, miscellaneous things.
When asked what advice she'd give young women on social media, Moretz stated: "Depict yourself adequately as what you want to be seen as... Just be yourself, be you, and don't be afraid to speak your mind."
The only thing to do now is wait for Kim's reaction to Moretz's reaction to Kim's reaction.
