Justin Timberlake tweeted his foot into his mouth earlier this summer when commenting on the BETs, but his thoughtful speech at yesterday's Teen Choice Awards was a concerted attempt to remove that foot.

In an acceptance speech for winning the Decade Award for his musical contributions, the 35-year-old pop star addressed the controversy that stemmed from him tweeting that he was "#inspired" by Jesse Williams' groundbreaking speech about race and cultural appropriation at the BET Awards in June. The Internet responded by pointing out the hypocrisy of Timberlake, a very successful white R&B singer, being "inspired" by a speech calling out cultural appropriation.
