Melania Trump announced last week that, as First Lady (a truly horrifying thought), she would pledge to combat cyber-bullying. The announcement was met with a massive internet eye roll, as many people pointed out the hypocrisy of the wife of one of the worst cyber-bullies of our time taking a stand against cyber-bullying. Among those to call her out was pop star Lady Gaga. Because if there's one thing Gaga hates, it's bullying (also, sensible shoes).

"To say u will stand for 'anti-bullying' is hypocrisy," wrote the pop star, who is a long-time vocal supporter of Hillary Clinton. "Your husband is 1 of the most notorious bullies we have ever witnessed."

She said:

Technology has changed our universe. But like anything that is powerful it can have a bad side. We have seen this already. As adults, many of us are able to handle mean words — even lies. Children and teenagers can be fragile. They hurt when they are made fun of or made to feel less in looks or intelligence. This makes their life hard and forces them to hide and retreat. Our culture has gotten too mean and too rough especially to children and to teenagers. We have to find a better way to talk to each other, to disagree with each other, to respect each other.

Gaga was far from the only one to point out the absurdity of this declaration, given Donald Trump's extensive bullying legacy:

In Melania's defense, maybe what she meant is she plans to take away her husband's social media access? (If so, his own aides apparently already beat her to it.)
