News broke early Thursday morning of the tragic passing of Valerie Fairman, a 23-year-old who once starred on the MTV reality show 16 and Pregnant.

TMZ learned that Valerie Fairman was at a friend's house on Wednesday. After calling to her in the bathroom, her friend eventually "broke down the door and found her unresponsive."

Fairman's death appears to be due to overdose.

According to US Weekly, Fairman has a troubled history with substance abuse. They also point to two incidents with police, one in 2015 when she was arrested on prostitution charges, and one just a week before she died for "resisting arrest and giving false identification to police." Fairman only appeared on one season of 16 & Pregnant, in 2009.

Teen Mom 2 star Chelsea Houska gave condolences on Twitter.

Fairman is survived by her seven-year-old daughter, currently in the care of her grandmother.
