For the millions of Americans not keeping up with the modern country music scene, the Academy Of Country Music Awards were this weekend. One of the highlights saw Katy Perry introducing Dolly Parton for the Tex Ritter Award for her 2015 film Coat Of Many Colors. Below is Perry's introductory speech, where she acknowledges that Parton and her are "both known for some the biggest... songs in our fields."
She didn't mean "songs."
The two then joined forces for a medley duet over a few of Parton's most classic hits, like "Coat Of Many Colors," "Jolene," and "9 To 5."
You can watch the full performance at the Huffington Post.
Earlier in the ceremony, host Dierks Bentley (which may be the most suitable name possible for someone involved in country music) allegedly called the duo a "great pair," in another not-so-subtle boob reference.
And if you've just discovered your love of Dolly, watch the trailer for Parton's now award-winning film, Coat Of Many Colors, below.
