Postmodern Jukebox is know for their anachronistic, genre-defying covers of classic songs. They've done a 60s soul version of Outkast, a 50s doo-wop version of Celine Dion, and a super swingy version of Britney Spears, among many others. In the process, they've become a huge hit on the internet—and it's not hard to see why. In addition to the nostalgia factor, all of their covers sound amazing. And their latest is no exception. For this one, they paired up with 15-year-old vocalist Caroline Baran to cover Metallica's 1991 metal classic "Nothing Else Matters" in the style of a 40s jazz torch song. It works shockingly well.
That girl would be a star in 1944, 1991, or 2017. We can't wait to see more from her.
