Ruth Berhe, better known as Ruth B, is a Canadian singer-songwriter with a song on the charts all because she posted a six-second video of herself singing on Vine. She posted short videos of her playing piano and singing her original song, "Lost Boy," which made it to 24 on the Billboard Hot 100 and 14 on the Canadian Hot 100. Not too shabby.
