In what is the least metal but most charming thing Metallica has ever done, the band performed their song "Enter Sandman" on toy instruments with Jimmy Fallon and house band The Roots on Wednesday's Tonight Show.

While Fallon and The Roots all paid homage to the band by wearing Metallica shirts, Metallica members James Hetfield (vocals and guitar IRL, toy clarinet in this video) and Lars Ulrich (drums IRL and in the video) wore Tonight Show and Roots shirt, respectively (Metallica's two other band members, lead guitarist Kirk Hammett and bass player Robert Trujillo, were also there).
