The U.S. Navy has released a video of the USS Hartford (SSN 768), a Los Angeles-class fast attack submarine, surfacing through a layer of thick Arctic Circle ice, and it looks as though James Cameron could've directed it. The clip was filmed at Ice Camp Sargo during Ice Exercise (ICEX) 2016, a "five-week exercise designed to research, test, and evaluate operational capabilities in the region." Your reverence for the sheer power of this monster will only increase when you see that it takes a chainsaw to get out of the vessel. Behold, the prestige of American ingenuity!
