Flying frequently tends to make one either bitter or obsessed with aviation. I fall into the latter category. Visiting Maho Beach in Saint Marteen was always on my bucket list. It's as crazy as it looks — planes landing just feet from a public beach.

This Instagram clip comes from Sint Maartin, the Dutch part of the Caribbean island of St. Martin. Because the island is so small, Princess Juliana International Airport's runway is separated by nothing but a narrow beach and a runway from the sea. That beach has become a favorite spot for planespotters because of the extremely low-altitude landings that happen multiple times per day.
