Most people have deep or dark secrets that we're afraid to share with our loved ones. And sometimes it's a lot less scary to confess our most disturbing and shameful truths to someone we barely know, or someone we just met, or even a complete stranger. How can they judge us when they barely know us?! That being said.... if you find yourself consistently using strangers or new acquaintances as a sounding board for your most twisted innermost thoughts, may I recommend therapy?

I sat next to this quiet, awkward kid in my Spanish class. One day, I tried to spark conversation with him and he told me that he considered killing his parents.

I used to work at an animal shelter and we had several people who would come volunteer to help out.
One of the women who came there on a regular basis went to lunch with me. She was such a sweet woman, a little older than I was at the time. She proceeded to tell me that she used to go to the park and hook up with old men blow jobs because she felt sorry for them.
