Is it selfish to spend your money on yourself, or are you obligated to help a family member in need? That's the question Reddit user u/WorldlyReading7199 is hoping to have answered here today. He planned a European dream vacation with his wife, however, his sister thinks that money should instead be used to fund her fertility treatments. Now, this brother is asking the internet:
He writes:
My (30M) sister(34F) has been struggling to conceive with her husband for a few years now. They recently went to a Gyno and were told they likely would be unable to without IVF.
Obviously, she's upset about it. Idk their exact financial situation but she and her husband are both teachers at private schools.
They said their insurance doesn't cover it at all and that they were told it would likely be about 25k all in with the medication and everything.
