Let me say this right up front: I'm no fashionista. Do I regularly wear pajamas to the office? Yes. Do I still wear clothes I've owned since high school? Yes. Is that a bit of a humble-brag? You bet your ass it is.

All that said, I'm prettttttttttty sure this Balenciaga "skirt" is actually just a car mat.

Actually, I'm 100% sure this Balenciaga skirt is actually just a car mat.

This picture from a recent Balenciaga fashion show was captured by celebrity gossip and pop culture account 'The Shade Room,' where it quickly went viral.

Oh, and this skirt costs £1700, which is equal to about $2238 American dollars. That's like, 70 oil changes.

And Twitter cannot stop roasting it:

But this is not the first time Balenciaga, uh, "repurposed" some cheap thing you probably already have laying around your house.

Remember this $2000 tote bag that looks suspiciously like those cheap, plastic Ikea bags?

How about this Balenciaga "blanket bag" that literally looks like trash?

Or how about these sneakers that look like something your mom would force you to throw out because they are beyond cleaning?

Anyway, if this is what people are wearing now-a-days, I'll gladly stick to my salsa-stained blue jeans and oversized t-shirts, thankyouverymuch.
