The award for most versatile dress of The Met Gala has to go to model Karlie Kloss, who was able to achieve three looks in one evening thanks to a little help from a pair of scissors.

The 23-year-old model started the evening in a long white dress that looked pretty modest for a 23-year-old model. But then, BAM. It turns out it was only some sort of fancy coat that was covering a very sexy Brandon Maxwell cutout gown.

For the after party, Kloss decided to take the term "cutout dress" a little more literally, and had Brandon Maxwell himself cut off the entire bottom of her gown, turning it into a mini-dress. Although the dress is obviously in very capable hands, watching the video of Maxwell cutting the dress down might give you heart palpitations.

Soooo...instead of changing into a #MetGala Afterparty dress, @BrandonMaxwell cut my gown into mini ✂️🙈

Don't worry, the chop was definitely pre-planned and not impromptu. There was a little foreshadowing of the chop on Kloss's Instagram days earlier when she put up this video of her wearing the dress and holding some serious looking scissors with the caption "final fitting."

The final result ended up looking great, much better than all those tee shirts you tried to cut into more flattering shapes in high school.

Much, much better.
