Austrian model Jazz Egger, 19, has been changing the captions on her old Instagrams and adding the hashtag "#truthbehindthisshot." Instead of relentlessly cheerful captions, she wants her followers to see the ridiculous demands of the fashion industry, as well as the insecurities that often go along with having your face and body constantly critiqued.

Egger says she sometimes gets asked by casting directors how many Instagram followers she has, in order to help them decide if they want to hire her. Until recently Egger's Instagram account was filled with pictures of her looking happy, accompanied by upbeat captions. Now she's changing those captions to present her life in a more honest way.

In an email to Distractify, Egger wrote,

The fashion and media industry is hard and the pressure to be perfect even harder. Casting directors started asking me how many followers I have so they can decide whether they want me for a job or not," Egger said in an email. "So today, I decided to post a selfie with a different caption than usually. I was honest. I'm so sick of people pretending to have a perfect life bc I know their Instagram feed is full of lies which support stereotypical standards.

While it sucks that anyone worries about what other people think of their looks, it adds a little perspective to know that it happens to even the most good-looking among us.
