Chipotle is looking to step up its game very soon, testing a drive-thru option at one location this fall.
Fans of the Mexican chain restaurant have long wondered why Chipotle doesn’t have a drive-thru, given that their fast food lends itself so perfectly to the drive and order process. Turns out, a drive-thru and pickup window may not be such a far away dream after all.
During a meeting with investors earlier this week, Chipotle executives announced the testing of a "vehicular pickup window" at an Ohio restaurant in the fall, Business Insider reports.
Business Insider further notes that Chief Marketing Officer Mark Crumpacker said during the call: "We need to evolve the Chipotle experience."
Of course, there’s no telling how long until the drive-thrus start to appear at more Chipotle locations or if it will even be an option for all of their restaurants.
In other Chipotle news, the chain announced it will be adding queso to their menus at 350 locations in August, rolling it out nationally as early as mid-September.
