Ice cream is a summertime staple. But there are always those looking to put a new spin on an old classic and take things next-level. Is the cotton candy ice cream burrito the latest ice cream-related stroke of genius?

Forget the tired old cone, a burrito style wrap made of cotton candy is the new frontier for portable ice cream consumption.

Or not, as people on Twitter aren’t entirely sold on the idea.

First, let’s take a look at the cotton candy ice cream burrito "recipe," which is exactly what you’d expect – scoops of ice cream placed in a cotton candy layer and then folded like a burrito. Love it or hate it, you have to give credit for thinking outside the box. Or cone, as the case may be.

The concoction is available at Sugar Sugar in Sarnia, Canada, with owner Martin Lacombe explaining to Insider: “I was fooling around and I had the idea. I thought the cotton candy would melt but I said “oh, what the heck, I’m gonna try it anyways.’”

He added, “And lo and behold, it worked. It doesn’t melt.”

Reactions have been mixed, with some totally on board and others completely rejecting the notion of ice cream wrapped in cotton candy:
