Ice cream and alcohol—two of life's most wonderful and unhealthy indulgences. Until very recently, if you wanted to enjoy both vices, you would have to do so separately. Such a hassle! But Tipsy Scoop Ice Cream Barlour in New York City just made it possible to get your sugar rush and a buzz on all at once with their liquor-infused ice cream.
Tipsy Scoop serves up boozy flavors like Cake Batter Vodka Martini, Strawberry White Sangria Sorbet and Dark Chocolate Whisky Salted Caramel to customers 21 and older. Their selection boasts a 5% ABV (alcohol by volume).
On Tuesday morning, I stopped by Tipsy Scoop to check it out. Man, work is tough:
Owner Melissa Tavss was inspired to open Tipsy Scoop after working in marketing for an alcohol company for years. She comes from a family of former ice cream makers, so the combination of these two things (much like liquor and ice cream) was a match made in heaven. Her personal favorite flavors are Spiked Hazelnut Coffee and Cake Batter Vodka Martini.
Tavss told Someecards that she has had a line down the block since the store opened on May 7. But if you are not in the New York City area, don't feel left out! Tipsy Scoop can ship pints of their ice cream all over the country. They also cater events, so you can provide dessert and a bar all at once!
