Looking to switch up your candy consumption with a new twist? Skittles has developed just the thing – a "trick" option that turns everything you know about candy on its head.
Skittles partnered with the NFL to create Trick Plays Skittles, available for a limited time.
Here’s how it works: the candy's colors don’t match the flavors. So, if you think red Skittles are going to taste like cherry or strawberry, in this case, the color would be something entirely different.
Skittles spokesperson Ashley Incarnato told Delish, "It's a fun twist on football strategy," adding, "We wanted to do something fun that engaged fans this season as an extension of this partnership."
Look for the Trick Plays Skittles through November at grocery, big box, and convenience stores nationwide.
The Candy Hunting Instagram account posted about the Trick Plays Skittles, writing: "The Trick Plays Skittles are brand new, and 'the colors don't match the flavors.' So, they're basically a rehash of Skittles Riddles or Crazy Cores." The Insta account noted these Skittles (as well as Cauldron Skittles) were found at Walgreens.
Skittles trick play! #jimmyeats •Location: @walgreens •Taste: these taste pretty good, the cool thing about these guys are that they don't match their colors. So you think you're going to get apple but you get cherry. •Rating: 8/10 (because you can trick people) #skittles #trickplays #nfl #candy #candies #snack #snacks #sweet #sweets #snacktime #junkfood #junkfoods #junkfoodie #tastetherainbow
