I hate to be the bearer of bad news here, but, uh, you've been eating sushi wrong your whole life.
Luckily, Munchies made a short video with Naomichi Yasuda back in 2014 explaining the correct way to eat sushi. Spoiler alert: if you are picking up your sushi from the gas station, you are already doing it wrong.
Rule #1: Use fingers for sushi rolls (wash your hands first).
Rule #2: Never combine ginger and sushi (does anyone actually ever the ginger, anyway?).
Rule #3: Never shake soy sauce off sushi (at least not when the chef is looking).
But wait, there's more!
According to Guff.com, you are meant to eat your miso soup after your meal— not before. You are not supposed to mix your wasabi in with your soy sauce, even though it does give you that perfect salt-to-heat ratio. And, if you can manage it, you are supposed to eat your sushi all in one bite.
But hey, when all else fails, just shovel that stuff into your mouth. No judgment here, sushi is delicious no matter how you eat it.
