Food at the movies is hella expensive–therefore, I never feel bad sneaking my own snacks in. I'm not about to spend $7 on M&M's!!!
However, it has come to my attention that my method of shoving snacks in the bottom of my tote bag under a sweater is fucking amateur hour.
Someone named Angela Brisk recently discovered a much more creative way to smuggle her own snacks into the movies, and she shared her genius hack on Twitter. "Found a brand new way to get your snacks into a movie," she tweeted, alongside two photos.
Brisk went to a craft store, found a styrofoam hollow half-sphere thing (not sure what these are actually for), and put it under her shirt, making her look pregnant. Basically, one could buy one of these contraptions, fill it with snacks, candy, popcorn, a drink, and stuff it under their shirt.
A ton of people responded, commenting on how genius the idea is.
Others thought this was taking it a step too far.
And of course, there were jokes.
Whether or not you would actually try the hack, you have to give Brisk props for her creativity and commitment.
However, it's worth mentioning that making your pregnant belly out of something other than styrofoam would be much better for the environment (and for you, as well). Styrofoam, made of polystyrene foam, is not recyclable, and takes at least 500 years to break down in a landfill (or it may literally never break down). It is also a possible human carcinogen. So if you're feeling this hack, consider saving a few bucks by just using a mixing bowl from your kitchen cabinet.
