Sophie Turner, a body positive model who has over 260,000 Instagram followers, posted a photo on Wednesday from a photo shoot. In the caption, she says she was "angry" when she saw the cellulite in the picture, but then she realized that learning to love her body, cellulite and all, was "the best thing you can do for your confidence and mental health."
Turner wrote that things like cellulite and belly rolls are completely natural, and women "need to stop seeing it as disgusting or ugly." She says she's had cellulite since she was about 12 years old, and that after living with it a decade, it's part of her, so why not embrace it? Turner admits it's a "slow road" to self-love, but it's the most important thing you can do for yourself.
Most of her Instagram comments were supportive, but there were of course the usual trolls and haters. Some people wrote that she's unhealthy and shouldn't be promoting body acceptance, but Turner actually commented back to a lot of them, correcting their incorrect assumptions that just because someone is big they are also unhealthy.
Good on Turner for sticking up for herself to the "concern trolls" and for being the hot bad-ass she is.
