A study released by Australian wine bottler Cobevco in 2013 showed that Wednesday at 6:53 p.m. is the most common time during the week to drink wine. The research also showed that men are quicker with the cork, typically pouring their first glass at 6:40 p.m., while women are half an hour behind, taking their first sip at 7:07 p.m. As for why Wednesday, the company said people treat wine consumption as a "midweek treat" and that the sobriety of Monday and Tuesday are behind us. The study also found that most of us aren't heading to the local bar to have this glass, but instead prefer to pop open a bottle we have on hand as soon as we get home.
