It's easy to hate on "influencers." While the rest of us are developing scoliosis at our 9-5 desk jobs and then eating Cheetos on our IKEA couches until we pass out, influencers make a good living by lounging on beaches and wearing oversized hats and preaching about yoga, veganism and spirtuality. Life is so unfair. But while an influencer's income depends on them displaying an image of perfection, their real lives often differ drastically from the personas they project online. Basically it's all smoke and mirrors and ring lights and filters, baby! Influencers: just like US... she typed with her Cheeto dust-covered fingers.

I think people only get to see 1 side of her. I see the behind the scenes which is the strategy and work that comes with curating an online image. So online you see a world traveler who is beautiful, polished, and fashionable. In real life she's so much more than that, she is funny, hard working, strategic, sweet, smart, and generous. People get to see her reaping the rewards of her hard work and fantasize of an easier life. They don't see all the little details it took to get there.
