14 people share the unwritten rules of growing up poor.

We all know your upbringing is different based on how much money your family has. But some people who grow up without a lot have unwritten, unspoken rules that they might not have realized were in place until they got older.

A recent Reddit thread asked, "Redditors who grew up poor: Besides practical money-saving measures, what were the unwritten social expectations of your world growing up?" The answers prove that everyone's upbringing is different.

2. Oof.
